Board President, Sandy is a Bilingual, Educational Advocate and Master IEP Coach®. As the parent of an autistic young man, she understands firsthand how parents feel when navigating the confusing world of special education. Sandy works with families of students in the public school setting that have learning disabilities, special needs, or other health care concerns by coaching, consulting, and attending school meetings. Sandy helps parents collaborate with school teams to create effective and meaningful education plans that will support students in the classroom and prepare them for further education, employment, and independent living.
Sandy, along with her husband Jorge, enjoys running, traveling, and watching their grown kids figure out "adulting"
Vice President Kelley Prince is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and is the President and Founder of Behavioral Consulting of Tampa Bay, Inc. Since 1997 Kelley has worked directly with children on the autism spectrum, specializing in the development, implementation and supervision of Verbal Behavior Programs for children, Kelley focuses on teaching language/functional communication skills, academic skills, social skills, self-help skills and compliance behavior.
Kelley and the Santeiro family met when she was their son's ABA therapist. When they approached her with the idea of this foundation they were starting, she was immediately on board to help collaborate and provide guidance on keeping their planned events Sensory Friendly as possible.
Kelley is the proud mom of Carson and Owen and loves spending time at their ball games, fishing, and boating.
Co-Founder, Jorge Santeiro, graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, and was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force and served as a JAG officer at Nellis AFB, Nevada and MacDill AFB, Florida.
He separated in 2000 when he and his family settled in Tampa and began his career in private practice as a litigator and trial attorney, first with a small local firm and then a large statewide firm. He left his shareholder position at Kubicki Draper to become the Managing Trial Attorney for FCCI Insurance Group—a regional commercial insurance carrier based in Sarasota.
Jorge and Sandy have been married for over 33 years. They are the very proud parents of two young adults, William, who is pursuing their education at Hillsborough Community College and Gabrielle, a recent graduate of Florida State University.
Co-Founder, Luis Viera, was raised in the North Tampa/Temple Terrace area and is a 2000 graduate of the University of South Florida and in 2003 graduated from Stetson College of Law.
Luis, a Councilman for the City of Tampa, is very active in our local community. He is the former Chairman of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Diversity Committee and a former Chairman of the City of Tampa Civil Service Board. Luis's passion for supporting the differently abled began at home with his elder brother, Juan.
Beyond volunteering with LAAF, Luis served on boards of various community organizations and championed the cause of Autism Friendly Tampa and the Mayors Alliance for Persons With Disabilities as well as a number of civic, minority and veterans organizations.
Luis, his wife Colleen O'Brien, and son, Luis Jr., are very involved in the local Tampa community.
LAAF was founded by four friends who had a desire to be of service to the families of children with autism and other developmental disabilites
